Chairman of the Azerbaijan Elders’ Council MP Fattah Heydarov and the Council’s members have visited the graves of national leader Heydar Aliyev and academician Zarifa Aliyeva in the Alley of Honors in Baku on the occasion of June 15 - National Salvation Day.
Heydarov told reporters that National Salvation Day is a decisive day for Azerbaijan's independence, APA reports.
The chairman noted that Heydar Aliyev's return to Azerbaijan saved the country’s independence from destruction.
"Azerbaijan was saved from deprivations and gained success. State structures formed in the country and Azerbaijan was recognized around the world becoming a place of stability in the world," he said.
Heydarov said that President Ilham Aliyev successfully continues the political course of Heydar Aliyev.
"Our people once again demonstrated their support to President Ilham Aliyev during the recent presidential election. Azerbaijan’s fate today is in safe hands," he added.
